Florida Department of Health in Taylor County

Taylor County has the honor of having the first Health Department in the State of Florida, which opened in 1930.

The Taylor County Health Department serves a rural population of approximately 20,000 with an unemployment rate of more than 7%.  We strive to deliver quality and caring medical and environmental health care to the citizens and visitors of Taylor County.  The Taylor County Health Department is located at 1215 North Peacock Avenue.

The Taylor County Health Department offers a wide variety of services to the citizens and visitors of Taylor County.  These services include family planning, OB services, HIV testing and counseling, septic tank permitting, water testing, immunizations, birth and death records, and many other medical and environmental services.  Please see our links on the side of this page that will lead you to further exploration of our services.
