Department Helps Kids Eat Smarter And Move More

Full Story
Tallahassee, Fla.—September is Fruits & Veggies—More Matters Month. The Florida Department of Health encourages kids to eat smarter and move more. A healthy diet combined with physical activity can help Floridians of all ages achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health Dr. John Armstrong visited Taylor County to highlight their commitment to helping children lead healthy lifestyles. During the event at the Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida more than 40 children and their teachers joined Dr. Armstrong to highlight the importance of getting active at an early age. The children had the opportunity to learn about healthy portions and participated in simple, fun exercises.
